Technical Committee

Minutes of the Florence Aquaculture CRSP Program & Technical Committee Meeting (702K DOC file)

Technical guidance for the CRSP is provided by the Technical Committee (TC). The TC monitors program research, proposes modifications to the research agenda, and recommends research activities.

The TC:

  • Develops the biennial work plans for the research projects; reviews and recommends to the Program Management Office (PMO) research plans and budgets for individual projects.
  • Assists in the development of annual and intensive five-year reviews.
  • Provides recommendations on program progress and problems to the PMO, including, but not limited to, an analysis of the recommendations of the External Evaluation Panel.
  • Provides input to the CRSP Council through Council representation by the CRSP Director.

The organization of the TC is centered around three strategic research areas: production optimization, environmental effects, and social and economic aspects. The composition of the TC is diverse, representing various disciplines and institutions and including women and men from US and host country CRSP projects. TC members serve two-year terms. The TC consists of three subcommittees: Materials and Methods, Work Plan and Budget, and Technical Progress. The PMO may appoint additional members to the TC to provide expertise in underrepresented research areas. In accordance with BIFAD guidelines, the USAID Cognizant Technical Officer, CRSP Director, and CRSP Assistant Director serve as ex-officio members of the TC.

Current as of an electronic ballot, April 2005.
