Introduction to Ecological Statistics
Northwest Environmental Training Center
Seattle/WAUSA
September 10-11, 2009
Many ecologists and managers often use statistical models that may not be appropriate or that violate basic model assumptions (i.e. independence), which can lead to erroneous conclusions. The workshop will begin with an introduction to ecological statistics and then explore and discuss several methods: Non Metric Multidimensional Scaling, Classification and Regression Trees, and Non Parametric Multiplicative Regression. Each attendee will receive a binder containing a syllabus with the course topics, descriptions, and considerations for undertaking restoration/mitigation topics. The syllabus will include an extensive reference list of materials covering aspects of environmental restoration. This syllabus will be distributed at the beginning of the class. Tuition is $495 and reduced tuition is available for Native American tribes; government employees; nonprofits; students; and NAEP, NEBC members. For more information e-mail cputera@nwetc.org
