new PD/A CRSP initiative aims to provide colleagues in developing countries with textbooks, academic journals, and other reference materials that facilitate successful research. Unfortunately, many institutions in developing countries lack the budgets and resources enjoyed by scholars elsewhere. Access to books and information is fundamental to education and development. To make this initiative work, donations of materials would be provided by researchers both from and beyond the CRSP community. Please look in your book and journal collection for items related to natural resource managementspecifically in the area of aquatic sciencesthat no longer meet your needs and that could be donated to one of the many PD/A CRSP-sponsored researchers around the world, based on his or her particular area of interest.
Beyond the immediate interest in providing needed books to colleagues abroad, we hope this new book and journal donation program will also open doors to broader sorts of collaboration and exchange that will benefit all involved.
If you have materials to donate or would like more information about the program, please contact PD/A CRSP Assistant Director Cormac Craven via email at cravenc@ucs.orst.edu or by telephone at 541-737-6423.![]()
